BONG BONG! Two of Getintothis‘ favourite bands have dropped uber-rad new tracks today. And it’s not even our birthday. BONG BONG!
The Black Lips have always been super rad, so it was hardly a surprise when they dropped Go Out And Get It! – the ultimate party tune with an accompanying ultimate party vid produced by Jake Burghart and Vice editor Andy Capper for VBS TV.
The Lips were one of the standout bands during Sound City 2009 and Getintothis is way chuffed that they’ll be back in Liverpool for the festival in May.
You really should have invested in those wrist-bands by now.
In the meantime, here’s them in the Bahamas doing what they do best – partying hard. On a boat. In the sunshine. Drinking and fooling about. With the Vivian Girls. What utter bastards.
In other Good News Just In type of news, Gang Gang Dance have previewed the first single to be taken from their forthcoming album on 4AD, Eye Contact
The track’s called Glass Jar, and is an 12-minute belter featuring a guest appearance from Alexis Taylor of Hot Chip. I like the steel drum section the best.
The track will be released as a limited edition double A-side 12″ on April 4 with Eye Contact being unleashed to the world on May 9. You’ll probably have downloaded it illegally by then anyways.
GGD will be at The Ruby Lounge in Manchestuh on May 11 and at the AnCo curated All Tomorrow’s Parties in Minehead from May 13-15.
