Manchester indie rockers Courteeners has announced a huge UK tour to round off another massive year, Getintothis’ Nathan Scally has all the details.
Still reeling off a slot third from the top at Reading & Leeds and supporting local heroes The Stone Roses at the Etihad Stadium, Courteeners will be taking a brief break before heading out on the road. The tour will support upcoming album Mapping The Rendezvous, due for release this October, and will stop at Liverpool’s Echo Arena on November 18.
An added bonus to the fans is the release of new single No One Will Ever Replace Us, played for the first time on Radio X on the same day.
Liverpool band Clean Cut Kid will join the bill for the entire tour as well as Milburn who will be helping out for only the Liverpool and Leeds dates. Scotland’s The View will also make a huge appearance for the Glasgow leg.
A hometown show in Manchester has not been announced as yet, but something special will be in the pipeline. Their winter tour in 2014 also missed the city before a huge show at Heaton Park was announced. It’s been a busy 10 years for the Middleton band, with no real hiatuses in production since first forming in 2016, featuring five studio albums.
Tickets will be on pre-sale on Wednesday August 31 and general sale Friday September 1. They are bound to fly out the gate, Liverpool, Glasgow and Leeds are favourites to sell out first.
