Ahead of their June date at Studio 2, Getintothis’ Connor Ryan just why we should be so excited for newcomers Beach Slang.
Beach Slang are America’s new, number one band of introverted misfits, and are set to play Studio 2 on June 11. If you’re reading this and wondering, ‘who the fuck are Beach Slang?’, well, let us tell you, it’s time to get excited in anticipation of their Liverpool show.
Heartfelt songs like Too Late To Die Young juxtaposed to the more visceral numbers such as Porno Love and Noisy Heaven make for an interesting live experience. Hailing from Philadelphia, this band’s small back catalogue is already showing signs of massive potential.
Influenced by bands such as The Replacements and Pavement, frontman James Alex is one of the most energetic, charismatic and friendly frontman we’ve seen for some time. If you head down to Studio 2, you won’t be disappointed. They’re an excellent band to see live if you’re into fast, loud, emo-tinged alt rock. We’d also recommend their 2015 album, The Things We Do to Find People Who Feel like Us. It’s a stonking record.
