With the much-acclaimed C Duncan on his way to Liverpool in March, Getintothis’ Patrick Clarke looks ahead to the chance to catch a long-term favourite in the perfect surroundings.
The murky Glaswegian pop of C Duncan has long been on our radar here at Getintothis. It was earlier this year that his early single Here to There was among the featurees in our weekly introducing column Unknown Pleasures, and next March, almost exactly a year later, he’ll be treating us to his first Liverpool headline show.
In the months since that early feature, C Duncan now finds himself a Mercury Prize nominee, his fledgling career lent backing by just about every muso in the business and an opening act for Belle and Sebastian. He is, indeed, a mercurial talent.

Which is why we’re so excited to see Liverpool’s Leaf among the stops on a 12-date tour of the UK and Ireland next Spring, Duncan‘s Merseyside meeting set for March 3, with support from Deltasonic‘s Tom Low (a.k.a Thomas McConnell), another favourite prospect of this parish.
C Duncan is not this year’s token obscurity on this year’s Mercury shortlist, rather a star that’s rising as rapidly as they come, and to see him amid the warm, understated glow of Leaf is a rare treat. Catch it while you can, it won’t come round again.
