Emerging through an electrical birthing canal In Atoms are delivering glistening new life to the sonic pool on Merseyside.
Having been circling around these parts from a distant past and following on from the expansive seduction of 2014 EP Wreaths, it’s their new material which is most striking. Take Dimmed Ascendant, a piece which slivers gently along via tubes of electricity; passages of shimmering light leading up to an iridescent release.
Drawing upon found sounds, gurgling electrolysis, Eno-like textures and indiscernible vocal hums it draws you in with a minimal electronic tug.
Tipped in end of year polls and a support slot with Constellations Records‘ Jerusalem in My Heart under their belts, 2015 is shaping up rather sweetly for an artist who likes to explode – albeit discretely and rather beautifully.
