Liverpool Digital Music Festival celebrates 10,000 visitors over the weekend, Getintothis’ Lewis Ridley with the news this week as Leeds bands Mega Happy release new single.
Three benefit compilations are being released by the Liverpool Migrant Solidarity Network in aid of their coronavirus reponse fund.
Bass Without Borders is the first of those.
It features an eclectic mix of bass music from around the country spanning from Liverpool to London, steppas dub to jungle and breakcore, jump up covers of Bohemian Rapsody to a progressive donk remix of a Daniel Bedingfield classic.
It’s got everything.
Wednesday 3 June will see the release of Folk Without Borders.
Wednesday 10 June will see the release of Punk Without Borders.
These two compilations feature many international contributions with names such as Blackbird Raum showing solidarity from across the pond.

Liverpool DJ Niraj Gohel will play a marathon set also in aid of the Liverpool Migrant Solidarity Network.
The F**k Covid 19 Charity Fundraisers will bee Gohel play for 19 hours, 19 minutes and 19 seconds on Friday 5 and Saturday 6 June and will be streamed live on Twitch.
The network is raising funds for migrants that are not able to access public funds such as benefits and other financial support during coronavirus.
Working closely with the Merseyside Asylum Link and other local organisations, they aim to work with people to assist them in accessing money for food, utlity bills and medicines during the crisis.
In other news this week, the inaugural Liverpool Digital Music Festival that took place over the Bank Holiday weekend attracted over 10,000 visitors online.
100 musicians united online to create over 1500 minutes of live performances shown live online in support of Liverpool NHS Hospitals and the Music Venue Trust‘s Save Our Venues.
The festival was visited by over 10,000 people who consumed over 1600 hour of video that was created by the musicians, which helped them raise over £2000 in donations.
Swansea multi-instrumentalist Geraint Rhys has teamed up with Irish poet Anne Marie Silbiger to record a charity single in aid of the NHS.
Breathe is a tribute to Anne-Marie‘s late husband and all proceeds will go to the Critical Care staff at UCLH in London.
Anne-Marie said: “This song is a tribute to my husband Ian Silbiger who died on 29 October 2019 from community contracted pneumonia and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. My words allow you a glimpse into our life together, into our lives living under the truly tragic burden of mental and physical illness. I hope you love it as much as I do.”
All proceeds from the sale of the track will go the NHS.
