Pop polymath Damon Albarn has confirmed a second London date as he prepares to launch a new project inspired by the landscapes of Iceland.
The singer, songwriter and composer will perform The Nearer the Fountain, More Pure the Stream Flows at the London Palladium on June 3, 2020, after an initial UK date at The Barbican sold out in minutes.
The Blur frontman has been a frequent visitor to Iceland for almost three decades., while he lives in London he has a home on Iceland and visits a few times a year.
He has spoken often about how he has found musical inspiration in its nature and landscapes.
t interview with Morgunblaðið journalist Einar Falur Ingólfsson he described how he has always dreamt of creating a piece of music about the view from his house in Iceland. “It’s such an absorbing and ever-changing tableau”
The concert will see Albarn perform the piece in its entirety with an ensemble and specially commissioned visuals.

The Nearer The Fountain, More Pure The Stream Flows will premiere at Bozar in Brussels on May 17. A 15 date European tour will conclude with a return to Iceland for a special concert in Reykjavik’s Harpa on June 12, 2020.
The Nearer the Fountain, More Pure the Stream Flows was written and composed entirely in Iceland with its title is taken from a John Clare poem entitled Love and Memory.
