Kettering’s psychedelic maestros Temples come to town to promote their third album in September. Getintothis’ Will Neville bows before their altar.
Temples are back with a new album called Hot Motion, due to be released on ATO Records, home to the likes of Dylan LeBlanc, Amyl And The Sniffers and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, on September 27.
Temples first formed in Kettering in 2012, with original members James Bagshaw on guitar and vocals and bassist Tom Walmsley joined by Adam Smith on keyboards and rhythm guitar in time for their second single the following year.
The band have now reverted to a three-piece with the departure of drummer Samuel Toms last year as they prepare to release the follow-up to 2014’s Sun Structures and Volcano from 2017.
They’re no strangers to Liverpool, having played in the city on several occasions, including a hot show at Leaf during Sound City in May 2013, while Bagshaw had previously worked with The Lightning Seeds.

However, they’ve not performed in Liverpool since a show at the O2 Academy in March 2014.
To promote the new album, they are playing a daytime in-store show at Jacaranda Records Phase One on September 30, hot on the heels of its release.
The show will take place from 12pm to 4pm, with the band performing selections off this new release, with tickets priced at from £10 to £20 offering the choice of vinyl, cassette or CD versions of the album alongside entry to the show.
