Manchester band Doves look ready to reform after an eight year hiatus, Getintothis’ Lewis Ridley licks his lips with anticipation.
Doves are set to return to the stage after an eight year hiatus.
The Cheshire rock and rollers appear to be getting back together, judging by a cryptic social media post released this afternoon.
It shows tour luggage emblazoned with Monday, December 3’s date written on it.
They have been on hiatus since 2010, during which time each of the three members worked on side projects, including singer and bassist Jimi Goodwin releasing his first solo album in 2014.

Doves released four studio albums, two of which topped the UK charts and two were certified platinum. Their last release was 2009’s Kingdom of Rust.
They are best known for classic tracks The Cedar Room, Pounding and There Goes The Fear.
Frontman Jimi Goodwin began a solo career in 2014 with his first album Odludek, while fellow band members Jez and Andy Williams went on to form Black Rivers.
An online petition was set up in February in an attempt to convince the band to get back together. At time of writing it has over 1,500 signatures.
But might there be another to add to their discography? I guess we’ll know on Monday.
