A chill is in the air, pumpkins are in the shops and gig tickets are flying into the hands of Liverpool audiences, as Getintothis‘ David Hall reports.
A busy, busy September is all but a distant memory as we shift gears and barrel towards the witching hour in October.
There’s no let up in the gig calendar this week, with gigs stacked up as far as the eye can see. It’s not a case of quantity over quality either, with up and coming acts rubbing shoulders with established names on the Merseyside circuit as ever.
Wall to wall, there’s a bewildering array of live dates across just about every night of the week. There’s something for pretty much everybody to enjoy, whether you’re looking to experience something new and different or seeing one of your favourite artists.
Flyte
Flyte, Spinn, TV Me: Buyers Club, Wednesday October 11
Quickly establishing themselves as one of the hottest new indie pop acts in the land, Flyte make another repeat visit to Liverpool.
Support comes in the form of jangly local four piece Spinn, and the Deltasonic-signed trio TV Me.
Sløtface
Sløtface: The Magnet, Thursday October 12
Norwegian punk poppers Sløtface seem forever on the up, and revisit Liverpool on a long-awaited UK headline tour, following support ‘sløts’ for the likes of Los Campesinos!.
Following the release of their full-length debut Try Not To Freak Out, Sløtface bring Dream Wife to The Magnet in support.

Former Stands man and confirmed local royalty Howie Payne rolls out his latest solo project.
No stranger to either a Liverpool nor a Buyers Club stage – we last saw him in acoustic mode at the Hardman Street digs – the Scouse troubadour promises an honest-to-goodness show every single time.

The latest alumni from Getintothis‘ clubnight Deep Cuts, We Were Glue are set to make the launch of new promoter Out of Context‘s virgin night special in the northern docklands.
A bumper lineup featuring this best in local talent in Karuna, Yammerer, Ted Russet and Beth Humphreys also on the bill promises a whistlestop tour of the next great things on Merseyside.

The legendary clubbing label Cream celebrates a quarter century in operation with a city centre night boasting a lineup bristling with electronic luminaries from the last twenty-five years.
As Paul Oakenfold, Seb Fontaine, Tilt, Paul Bleasdale, Anthony Probyn, Stuart Hodson, and Samuel Lamont all hit Liverpool, clubbers are faced with a prospect not to be missed.
Elevant
Loner Noise Freak Scene All Dayer featuring Elevant, SPQR and more: Invisible Wind Factory, Saturday October 14
The warped minds behind last summer’s WRONG Festival – recently confirmed for a 2018 reprise – present a dockland all-dayer as a festival stopgap.
WRONG curators Elevant plus Merseyside’s art rock export SPQR top a bill also featuring Kapil Seshasayee, Pocket Apocalypse and Black Pudding.

Listeners will get to enjoy the new, more expansive approach from the five-piece both on SAILS and live at the Shipping Forecast early next month.
Their typically Mancunian cosmic aesthetic comes with a twist of Americana, which is bound to go down a storm in the cosy confines of a Slater Street basement on an ambitious UK tour.
