Local Natives at Primavera Sound
Primavera Sound have announced more acts for what will be its rescheduled 20th anniversary in 2021, Getintothis’ Claire Cook reports.
Primavera Sound‘s last lineup announcement saw music giants Tame Impala, FKA twigs, Gorillaz, Jorja Smith, Jamie xx and Charli XCX join an already bumper line up in which Tyler, The Creator and The Strokes confirm their presence.
The festival has now announced 37 more acts announced to play Primavera Sound 2021, with “eternal innovators Massive Attack, the soul icon Mavis Staples, BICEP‘s lysergic electronic music and the emperors of French rap PNL… the sensation Doja Cat, the new voice of R&B Kehlani, the tireless Sparks, the hard-hitting anthems of Porridge Radio and the young Filipino-British artist Beabadoobee” leading the charge for the rescheduled 2021 festival.
Primavera Sound isn’t leaving out the local scene either, adding Ferran Palau, Agoraphobia, Núria Graham to the bill, alongside up-and-comers such as Akasha Kid, Soto Asa and Trapani.
The festival has also publicly launched a new audio-visual streaming platform, PS Life. “Conceived as a virtual window onto the world of music through live concerts, videos of historical performances, listening parties, live radio programmes or meetings with artists and other fans among many other proposals, PS Life is a virtual meeting point for times when music fans can’t get together in the usual places.”
Over the coming days, a #RelivePrimavera special will be broadcasting historical concerts from past editions of Primavera Sound such as Blur (2013) and Swans (2013). Access to these events is free, and there is also the opportunity to participate in live chats.

Tickets are already on sale and the operation of exchanges and refunds has begun for holders of a 2020 ticket.
All purchased tickets that are held for this year’s cancelled festival will be valid for the dates in 2021 and will include special benefits to ‘express gratitude for our audience’s loyalty.’
