Here’s another week of live guests to keep you entertained in these times of isolation, Getintothis’ Matty Loughlin-Day brings the schedule.
Getintothis Live, our ongoing three-times weekly chat show rolls on unabashed, in spite of worldwide turmoil and continues to offer a bit of certainty in times of continued uncertainty.
The live stream, accessed via Facebook, features discussion, debate and a welcome splashing of daftness and is now well established as a go-to point for those looking to scratch their cultural itches at a time when going to gigs, spoken word events or any other event that involves standing near other humans is impossible.
Manning the fort as ever is the indefatigable Getintothis captain, Roy Bayfield who will be discussing the latest news and features at 8pm tonight (Saturday), Monday and Wednesday, accompanied of course by Getintothis’ Peter Guy.
Tonight’s session sees the rabble joined by Genevieve Artadi, a recording artist signed to BRAINFEEDER who has just shared her new single Hot Mess from forthcoming album Dizzy Strange Summer and JJ Haggar, local DJ and promoter who was the metal brains behind the longest running club night at the institution that was the Krazyhouse.
Joining them will be the cultural polymath that is Maya Mitter, who whilst being an activist, festival organiser and drummer, also finds time to write and research radio documentaries and Bronnie, a singer, musician and pop rock artist who is also an ambassador for the mental health enterprise Project Buddy.
Come Monday June 22, the Getintothis Live train hurtles along, as the gang are joined by Amy Walpole, of Manchester band WITCH FEVER (recently featured in our Manchester bands to watch feature) and Adele Emmas, chief songwriter with Bird and St Jude the Obscure who is also imminently releasing solo material.
James Chapman aka MAPS, who has recently released a duo of remix EPs featuring C Duncan and A Certain Ratio, will also be playing out as well as Rogerio Simoes, Getintothis contributor, entrepreneur and journalist with a history of covering everything from Northern Ireland to the Balkans, FIFA World Cups to the Olympics, with kick off also starting at 8pm.
Looking further ahead to Wednesday 24t and the going is just as good, with Getintothis playing host to no less than Neil Arthur of influential electronic band Blancmange, Charlie Brown from APRE and Jennifer John, vocal coach and creative director of Liverpool based Sense of Sound choir who can boast on her CV of having “performed with Take That & Nile Rodgers” among others.
Finally, the team are also joined by Fiona Ogilvie, avid music fan and a regular on the gig and festival goers scene – who has also been described as probably the world’s biggest Meatraffle fan. Magic.
Locked down, but not locked out; see you there.
