Fontaines D.C follow-up news of their new album with details of an massive accompanying UK tour and Getintothis’ Abi Moss Coomes has all the big news.
Following on from the announcement of their much anticipated second album A Hero’s Death, Fontaines D.C have announced a raft of new U.K. tour dates for 2021.
The 13-date tour is set for May next year, and includes the band’s biggest headline date so far at London’s Alexandra Palace.
With their debut album Dogrel making it to the UK album chart Top 10, 6 Music declaring it as their Album of the Year, as well as a Mercury Music Prize nomination, Fontaines D.C are widely regarded as one of the most exciting guitar bands for years.
Since it’s release, the band have played numerous sold-out headline tours, both at home and abroad, culminating in a TV appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon over in the US.
Having recently shared the new album’s title track, they have followed up this with the record’s opener I Don’t Belong, showing that A Hero’s Death will start with something of a lonely intensity, in stark relief to Dogrel’s short, sharp Big.
This new tour announcement follows hot on the heels of the band’s recent remote performance on Later…with Jools Holland earlier this month.
