Rock and roll legends Echo & The Bunnymen have announced a 16 date UK tour, set to take place in May 2021.
The tour will be a celebration of the songs that have brought the band huge success over their admirable 40-year career, including twenty top 20 hits and nine top 20 albums.
Speaking on the tour news, renowned front man Ian McCulloch said: “Well then, here are the dates for our 2021 U.K. tour!”
“I can’t wait to be out there with the band on all those stages in all those cities and towns, doing what I love most, playing our magical songs to our brilliant fans and, hopefully, making all our lives a little bit happier along the way”.
Kicking things off at Sheffield City Hall on May 7, Echo and the Bunnymen will play songs from many of their seminal albums, including Crocodiles, Heaven Up Here, Porcupine and Ocean Rain.
Such albums have been a primal influence on bands such as Coldplay, The Killers and The Flaming Lips.
Meanwhile their later albums, such as Evergreen, What Are You Going To Do With Your Life? and Siberia & Meteorites, credit the bands’ amazing collection of versatile music.
Echo & The Bunnymen are still immensely relevant and recognised in popular culture, with their track Nocturnal Me featuring in the popular Netflix series Stranger Things, as well as tracks The Killing Moon and My Kingdom featuring in equally popular series 13 Reasons Why.
