Paul Weller has released a brand-new track from his hotly-anticipated new album, On Sunset alongside new tour dates for the autumn.
Village is an upbeat and dreamy track, from the perspective of a man happy in his place in life.
‘It’s a response to being told that we’ve all got to explore the Amazon and climb Everest to make our lives complete,’ says Weller. ‘And there’s a guy who says, fuck all that, I’ve got heaven around me.’
Written by Weller and long-time producer Jan ‘Stan’ Kybert, Village also features fellow Style Council co-founder Mick Talbot on keyboards.
Village is the latest track off June’s upcoming On Sunset, which Weller began working on soon after finishing 2018’s True Meanings.
It follows the track Earth Beat which was released back in March.

On Sunset features 10 new songs and features a range of pop classics, heart-aching ballads and hints of experimentalism.
Paul Weller is also going on tour in autumn 2020, alongside dates rescheduled from May 2020 to March 2021 due to Coronavirus, including a show a Liverpool’s Eventim Olympia which takes place on 16 March 2021.
