Dream Wife, Fickle Friends, Chinatown Slalom and more will open up Sound City 2020, Getintothis’ Lewis Ridley with the VIP news.
Liverpool Sound City have announced a series of Opening Parties for their 2020 festival.
The weekend festival will open on Friday, 1 May and will feature an afternoon of bands at the Cavern and parties until late at Constellations and District in the Baltic Triangle.
At the Cavern, the afternoon performances feature Liverpool buzz bands and artists Chinatown Slalom, Max Rad, Ask Elliot and a special guest that is yet to be announced.
In the evening action moves to the Baltic, where the festival calls home, with exclusive parties in Constellations and District.
Constellations opens from 6.30pm until late with shows from Dream Wife, Working Men’s Club, Peaness, Walt Disco, Zoe Graham and Callum Easter.
At District from 7pm, there’s appearances from Fickle Friends, Nikki & The Waves and Tilly Louise.
Sound City VIP 2020
The parties will run alongside the popular Sound City + music industry conference kicks off the festival hosted at the British Music Experience in the Cunard Building.
A conversation between IDLES’ Joe Talbot and 6 Music’s Chris Hawkins is part of the Sound City+ 2020 conference, an event which wants us to “start a fucking riot”.
Sound City+ is about engaging with, learning from and sharing ideas with leading industry professionals with expertise from a massive range of fields.
Across the weekend, VIP wristband holders and SC+ conference attendees will have access to a range of secret gigs and rooftop parties, with acts and locations to be announced exclusively to VIPs as it happens.
Last year saw a special appearance from Queen Zee and a roof top show from Red Rum Club.
