Liam Gallagher will release a new unplugged album next month, Getintothis’ Lewis Ridley looks forward to it but enjoys his hand-washing B-sides for now.
Liam Gallagher is set to release an MTV Unplugged live album on April 24.
The gig was recorded at Hull City Hall back in September, as Liam joins legends Paul McCartney, Page and Plant, and Nirvana in recording the prestigious sessions.
Liam commented: “I was honoured to perform at the legendary showcase that is ‘MTV Unplugged’.
“It was a lovely experience and the people of Hull were biblical and sounded fantastic. I hope you enjoy the record. LG x”
Throughout the show that sees Liam reel off the best of his solo work, he is joined by trio of backing singers and string arrangements performed by the 24-piece Urban Soul Orchestra for For What It’s Worth.
Stripped of the force of its studio recording, Gone is a standout as it reveals new-found bombastic dynamics and an evocative cinematic atmosphere
Oasis guitarist Bonehead features on performances of Some Might Say, Stand By Me, Cast No Shadow and Liam’s first ever live vocal performance of the Definitely Maybe bonus track Sad Song.
The show concludes on a crowd-pleasing high with an emotive take on the classic Champagne Supernova.
The news arrives during times when many bands and artists are taking to social media to lend a hand to the effort to increase awareness of the things that the public can do to stop the spread of coronavirus
In typical Liam Gallagher fashion, the singer has released a series of videos covering some of his best known tracks, with a little, hygeinic twist.
Kicking off with Wonderwash, the videos see Liam in his kitchen, scrubbing away and urging fans to “wash along.”
