Dommengang have announced shows in April, including a date in Liverpool, Getintothis’ Simon Kirk on their only northern date.
Californian based southern boogie psych outfit, Dommengang, have announced a UK tour in April including a show at Liverpool’s Jimmy’s.
In support of their latest album, No Keys, the memory-frying psych rock trio will play Jimmy‘s on Monday April 20.
Having been a part of the Thrill Jockey stable since their inception, Dommengang are singer/bassist, Brian Markham (also of Ancient Sky and touring member of Holy Sons), drummer Adam Bulgasem (White Hills) and guitarist, Sig Wilson.
No Keys was recorded with guitarist and engineer Tim Green (Joanna Newsom, Howlin’ Rain, Sleepy Sun) a close friend of the band.
Skittering reverb lends Sig’s guitar solos a cosmic quality, while rippling distortion add depth and weight to Markham and Bulgasem’s hypnotic grooves.
Guest vocals from Camilla Saufly-Mitchell of Golden Void on Jerusalem Cricket add a perfect counterpoint to Markham’s cries of No Keys, while Adam Parks added buzzing organ overtones to album closer Happy Death (Her Blues II).
Tickets for the gig are on sale now – and are just £5 – with support to be announced.
Dommengang play Liverpool’s Jimmy’s on Monday April 20
No Keys is Dommengang‘s third album and followed 2017’s Love Jail, which was a radical departure from their scintillating debut, Everybody’s Boogie, which garnered a wide array of acclaim when released in 2015.
This will be the first show Getintothis have announced in partnership with Jimmy’s.
Suffice to say, we’re pretty excited about it, given we are huge admirers of Dommengang and what they have brought to the table with their three albums so far.

No Keys featured in Getintothis‘ Top 100 Albums of 2019 at number 12.
Getintothis’ editor, Peter Guy, went onto say: “The result is a stark, sinister, sometimes sleek and often supercharged record bountiful in pummelling riffs and cavernous percussive thunder.
