Tomorrowland Garden of Madness event at Liverpool Central Docks saw thousands enjoy the night but drew criticism from Merseyside residents.
Tomorrowland and Creamfields returned to Liverpool with some of dance music’s biggest names.
Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike‘s Garden of Madness were top of the bill at Liverpool Central Docks cased inside the imposing Creamfields‘ Steel Yard.
The iconic Steel Yard, a 20 metre high, 15,000 capacity structure, hosted the legendary duo Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike wowing crowds with their high octane sounds and wild imagery.
And while fans who made the trip to the docks were left in raptures, there was a massive outcry from Merseyside residents complaining that the noise could be heard more than seven miles away.
Thank you to all those who came today you have been incredible 🙏🦋🎉

Liverpool residents took to social media to criticise the event and organisers with some insisting their children were left crying and some people taking to the streets such was their frustration at the ‘ridiculous noise.’
Creamfields appear to have hidden replies to those complaining on their account but the issues were reported throughout the night.

Several people suggested the noise could be heard as far away as Bootle, Crosby and Melling.
Getintothis has contacted Creamfields for a statement.

What about those at home upto 7 miles away that feel like they have been to the event because of how ridiculously loud the music has been? All for fun and music but christ 7 miles away?

— Ruth Scott-Williams (@Ruthselina) December 7, 2019
I can hear what tunes you're playing. I live in Seaforth. Stop taking the piss.
— zaphriel (@zaphriel) December 7, 2019
It ain't on, I think people should have fun, but let it be reasonable. Start it earlier to finish earlier. You see the sign outside pubs be quiet when leaving coz or residents. Well these don't give a shit, clearly

Turn it down will ye, I’m trying to sleep and kids are crying now
— Phil Wilcock (@phillyWilcock) December 7, 2019

— Invisible Elf (@InvisibleElf) December 7, 2019

— -Jenny Haydon (@Jennyhaydon08) December 7, 2019
Anyone on hand for mental health because you've disturbed the whole of Merseyside all afternoon and all night? You’re driving me crazy
Don’t know how this has been permitted @lpoolcouncil @mayor_anderson @MerseyPolice— Invisible Elf (@InvisibleElf) December 7, 2019
Hear is blasting as far up as Crosby too!
— lise lennon (@Bluenose_Lise) December 7, 2019
Any need for how loud #SteelYardLiverpool @Creamfields is, can here it in Fazakerley, hopefully the speakers will blow and we can all get some sleep
— tina roberts (@tinaroberts1978) December 7, 2019
@Creamfields have got to be taking the piss with the volume when you can hear it in Crosby! How did @lpoolcouncil give them a license for this! Seems to be the same across the whole of the area
— Andy Harding (@CodeFirstAndy) December 7, 2019
@MerseyPolice how the hell is this level of noise allowed when it’s causing ear ache 1.5 miles away from @Creamfields Bootle. Until midnight????
I understand that the council gave permission but how is this not a disturbance of the peace???— Jo Gillespie (@JoSGillespie) December 7, 2019
