It’s Momentum Fund time for UK musicians, Getintothis’ Cath Holland finds out who’s getting the moolah and why.
PRS Foundation, the UK’s leading charitable funder of new music and talent development, have revealed the next 12 artists to receive support from the pioneering Momentum Music Fund.
The lucky artists are And So I Watch You From Afar, C Duncan, Eyesore & The Jinx, FUR,Kidsmoke, Kobi Onyame, Man of Moon, Martha Ffion, Miink, NOVA TWINS, Oscar #Worldpeace, Petrol Girls, Red Rum Club, Ryan McMullan, Siobhan Wilson, Sub Blue, and Zilo
This latest round includes the first artists to be supported through the new Momentum Accelerator initiative.
Grants of up to £5,000, plus advice and support are available for talented Liverpool-based artists and their growing teams to help them reach a crucial tipping point and become more investment-ready in the future.
The first two Liverpool based artists to benefit from this first round of Momentum Accelerator are, Eyesore & The Jinx and Sub Blue who will receive help for touring and recording/releasing new material respectively.
Merseysiders Red Rum Club will receive cash to help with their extensive touring.
Previous recipients of the Momentum Music Fund based in Liverpool include GIT Award nominee Lapsley, All We Are, Jalen N’Gonda and Trudy and the Romance.
The fund started in 2013 and has invested in over 120 diverse artists, including chart-toppers Years & Years, plus Hooton Tennis Club, Kagoule and Levelz plus many more top UK talent.
