A Grammy nominee heads for LIPA while Science of The Lamps release their new video, Getintothis’ Lewis Ridley with the news this week.

The Vile Assembly will play District to launch their latest single, Last Century Man in April.

Having just been announced on the latest wave of acts for this years Sound City, the band will reveal their track on Friday, April 5. However, the band have already released a subversive video for the tune with Donald Trump playing a key role.

The band was created following a fortuitous meeting between three lifelong friends, Paul WebbMark Webb and Mark Mason who decided to start making music in opposition to the unjust society in which they believe we exist.

In gigs, Limerick three piece whenyoung will play Arts Club in support of their new single Never Let Go.

The band released their debut singles last year and caused a stir worldwide, including accepting an invitation to play at Shane McGowan‘s 60th birthday and are heading out on the road across the globe this year.

They stop by in Liverpool as part of their full UK tour on Friday, April 19.

Elsewhere, a Liverpool hat-trick of bands will be headlined by The Shunt on Friday, March 15 courtesy of Harvest Sun Promotions.

They’ll be joined by The Higherside and Marmalade at District.

In events, multi-platinum British song writer Carla Marie Williams is heading to Liverpool. She’s penned tracks for Beyoncé, Britney Spears, Craig David and now comes to LIPA for a very special masterclass.

The two-time Grammy nominated artist is in town on Tuesday, March 12 to give an intimate, free masterclass on the secrets behind writing a hit song.

FInally, vibrant Liverpool based collective, Science of the Lamps, have released a video to accompany their latest single STRAWS. The band, dreamt up by Norweigan Liverpool-based singer Kaya Herstad-Carney, who also works with Across The Threshold festival.

A mixture of live action and small animation techniques have been used to bring the song to life, not forgetting the bright colours that occupy the screen. You can watch the video below.
