6 Music Festival in Liverpool is to include several fringe events featuring stellar new music bands across the week.
The 6 Music team will be in Liverpool throughout the last week in March with an opening party at the Cavern on Thursday March 28 and culminating in a closing party at Jacaranda Records Phase One on Sunday March 31.
The Cavern party, hosted by BBC Introducing on Merseyside features Red Rum Club, Zuzu, The Mysterines and Queen Zee.
All four are riding high in national new music and each promise new material this year, with Red Rum Club‘s debut album already receiving critical and commercial success.
This opening gig is sure to sell out in double-quick time.
On Saturday, March 30, the ret hot Eggy Records gang will be showcasing their roster in Sound Basement. The gig will include sets from Eyesore and The Jinx, Beija Flo, Bill Nickson, Hannah and the Wick Effect, Astles, Ana Mae and Dan Disgrace.
The closing party on Sunday March 31 sees a veritable feast of rising new music bands featuring Chester’s Peaness, Wrexham’s Kidsmoke and Merseyside’s Seatbelts and RongoRongo which will see the week finish in style.
All four bands were selected by Merseyside new music industry heads and will gather at one of the city centre’s best new venues, Jacaranda Records Phase One on Seel Street on Sunday March 31.

The closing party will gather together the new music community in celebration of the city with the likes of Liverpool Music Week, Sound City, Dig Vinyl, Probe Records, Mellowtone, the Kazimier, Invisible Wind Factory, Liverpool Acoustic, Vinyl Junkie, Culture Liverpool and Getintothis all part of the package supporting the event.
