The Wailers
The legendary Wailers announce a UK tour and Getintothis’ Lucy McLachlan has details on how to bag a pair of tickets.
The Wailers are coming back to the O2 Academy Liverpool on March 13 as part of a 14 date UK tour.
The show will be nearly a year to the date since Bob Marley’s band last performed in the city and promises songs from the iconic album Legend.
With classics like Three Little Birds, I Shot The Sheriff, Jammin’ and many more greatest hits expected to be played this is likely to be a hot ticket.
The Wailers are currently led by founder Aston “Familyman” Barrett, and joined by original Wailers guitarist Donald Kinsey as well as saxophonist Glen DaCosta.
Whilst newer members of the group include Familyman’s son on drummer duties, Owen “Dreadie” Reid who plays bass with Julian Marley’s Uprising band.
Plus not forgetting front man Joshua David Barrett who delivers Bob’s message of Jah love and unity through his performance.

Bob Marley & The Wailers recorded, toured, and performed worldwide between 1972 to 1980. Since 1981, Familyman has carried on the mission to “keep The Wailers together” – just as Bob requested.
As since Bob Marley‘s untimely passing in 1981, Familyman vowed to keep a promise he made to his leader and friend – that he would hold maintain the music’s quality, to “keep me (Bob Marley) alive through music.”
If last year’s performance is anything to go by, hearing classic Bob Marley songs played by the band’s original members is a show not to be missed.
