Founder of Bongo’s Bingo opens new shipping container village in Liverpool, Getintothis Peter Guy on intriguing new developments in the heart of the Baltic Triangle.
Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle is to be the home of Content – a multi-purpose music, arts, drinking and eating space made from re-purposed shipping containers.
In the rapidly expanding landscape of the Baltic, Content aims to plug the need for a flexible space, with an emphasis on quality and value for money.
Getintothis broke the news last August, when organisers organised a ‘soft’ launch of the new venture with a small gathering of Liverpool independent creatives.
Founded by Joshua Burke, the man behind Bongo’s Bingo and Waxxx, has teamed up with Carl Turner architects, who have created similar projects around the UK.
Writing on Content’s Facebook platform, Burke said: “As we re-purpose our containers we will celebrate their individual history, their journey and the scars created over time. Each container has its own story and is completely unique. It is fitting then that this ambition will be realised in the port of Liverpool.

“The types of businesses we are looking to connect with are those that contribute to the community of the Baltic Triangle.
“We are particularly looking for businesses that will provide the kinds of services that Liverpool residents need to create a live, work, play environment in our neighbourhood. We prefer owner-operated businesses that reflect the unique personality of the emerging Baltic area rather than chains or franchises.”

- Content will expland throughout 2019 and currently features tenants including vegan friendly, experimental restaurant, Pollen a wine bar, Terrior, design studios, a record shop and a florist.
