81 Renshaw announce their Christmas Party, Bloxx and Neon Waltz to play Phase One and a new tune from Pizzagirl, Getintothis’ Lewis Ridley with this week’s news wrap.
Newton Faulkner will play Liverpool’s O2 Academy as part of a UK tour celebrating 10 years in the game.
The Surrey percussionist released his debut album, Hand Built By Robots, in 2007, which featured hits Dream Catch Me and a cover of Massive Attack‘s Teardrop.
His second number one album came in 2012, one of six studio albums to his name.
He is now set to release The Very Best of Newton Faulkner… So Far next March, which will trigger a huge set of dates, which will see him call into Liverpool on Saturday, April 27.

Getting into the festive spirit, Mellowtone Records have announced a charitable partnership with The Florrie set to benefit from sales on their website.
The Florrie has long been at the centre of Liverpool’s community effort, and never more so than during Christmas time, which can often be a difficult period for people in the city.
Last week, the venue served 500 Christmas dinners to older people.
Money from the sale of releases from Nick Ellis, Seafoam Green and Edgar “Jones” Jones, in addition to a selection of titles from the Viper label will support their food donation service for those in need.
Another Liverpool organisation feeling charitable at this time of year are 81 Renshaw. They have announced their Christmas Party on Saturday, December 15.
A night of music, comedy and poetry will feature The Southbound Attic Band, Jollyboat, Fourth Dimensional Accident, Al Peters, Lydiah and King and Byrne, with host and compere Alastair Clark, and all proceeds will go to Marie Curie cancer care.
In gigs, Parrjazz will present the newly formed band from Snarky Pupper founder Michael League, Bokante, at their new home at Phase One.
League handles baritone guitar and bass in the eight piece ensemble which fuses West African beats with dark, French blues. The international music collective come to Liverpool on Sunday, January 27.
BLOXX
Bloxx will also play Phase One next year as part of their UK tour. The indie grunge four piece will come to Liverpool on Sunday, April 14.
It follows the release of their new single Sea Blue, and the announcement that they and Circa Waves are supporting The Wombats on their tour of Europe next year.

Leeds band allusinlove have returned from a short hiatus and will headline Sound Basement in 2019.
Formerly allusondrugs, they have released an EP, All Good People while they continue a residency at Leadmill in Sheffield. They’ll come to Liverpool on Tuesday, February 5.
Neon Waltz
Finally, Neon Waltz, often referred to as Britain’s most northerly band, will play Phase One on Sunday, March 17.
The band hail from John O’Groats at the very top of Scotland, and their Liverpool stop off comes as the first English date of a UK tour.
Rising bedroom-pop artist Pizzagirl had closed out his debut year as an artist with a Christmas epic.
