Sensoria reveals Jlin and International Teachers of Pop, Getintothis’ Amos Wynn has all the latest additions and more.
The Sheffield based Sensoria festival offers a range of entertainment and events, from live music, outdoor cinema and interactive events.
Beginning in 2008, the likes of Jarvis Cocker and Mark Kermode have appeared at the event over the past ten years. This year’s festival will take place between September 27 and October 6, with an array of acts ready to impress across those days.
The first Saturday (29) of the festival has plenty in store to entertain music fans.
Sheffield’s own ukulele band, The Everly Pregnant Brothers, will be playing homage to The Human League‘s ‘Dare’ with a unique interpretation to the genre defining album, certainly something different to witness.
Also appearing is Indiana producer, Jlin, who will be gracing Sheffield with her first live date in the city, exercising her range of electro dance tracks.

Later in the week (October 4), Bristol three-piece, Beak>, will be appearing at The Foundry. This will be the only chance for fans to catch them in England before they head off to the states for a tour.
They are supported by Liverpool three-piece Ex-Easter Island Head, to offer an excellent night of music.

The following day (October 5), International Teachers of Pop appear at The University of Sheffield Drama Studio, as they begin a short October tour.
Sensoria‘s musical offerings end in style on its final day with an appearance from Will Gregory Moog Ensemble.
Forming half of the electronic sensation, Goldfrapp; Gregory and his band will be treating crowds with both new sounds and reinventions of old ones.
Elsewhere that night at the University of Sheffield Drama studio, XRFMR will help to bring the festival to a close.
Robbie Thomson, The Glasgow based artist behind the unique sensory phenomenon will also be on hand to provide a truly spectacular finale.

Sensoria’s film element is of major importance to the festival, and fans will be able to see the UK premiere of Arada amongst the many film screenings.
The showings of Industrial Accident: The Story of Wax Trax! Records, Studio 54 and Olancho, will also be northern premieres.
One of the standout events will be the outdoor screening of Yellow Submarine to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of The Beatles classic. This will take place on August 31.

A must for synth fans is SynthFestUK on the October 6. This event has a packed programme which allows various companies to showcase their synth products to the public.
As well as this, plenty of industry panel events are also taking place throughout the festival. The various talks will cover things like the value of publishing and how musicians can be funded.
One of the most interesting artistic attractions of the festival is the Steel, Street, Synth and Shutter exhibition which looks through the work of Barbara Wasiak.
Over the years she has captured both social and musical change in the city of Sheffield, as the exhibition shows the likes of Pulp, Richard Hawley and Roisin Murphy progression through their careers, all during the time Sheffield was suffering with huge steel work loses.
Whether its music, film, or something a little different, Sensoria aims to tick boxes in creative minds and perhaps spark new ones. It’s a unique week well worth heading to Sheffield for.
