San Francisco’s incendiary psych outfit Wooden Shjips return to Liverpool, Getintothis’ Peter Guy exclusively reveals details about one of this year’s hottest live tickets.
Wooden Shjips, the space rock quartet from San Francisco, are to play Liverpool’s Invisible Wind Factory on Friday September 14.
Renowned for their soaring live performances, skipper Ridley Johnson sails Wooden Shjips‘ Omar Ahsanuddin, Dusty Jermier and Nash Whalen back into the Mersey for the first time since their epic Kazimier show in 2011.
With new album V out in May via Thrill Jockey, the band have teased at a characteristically groove-laden comeback with the seven-minute opening single Staring At The Sun.
Added into the mix is the promise via promoters Harvest Sun, of a very special guest.

Who that may turn out to be is as yet unknown, however, regulars on the Merseyside circuit will be attuned to the promotion team’s stellar booking legacy, so watch this space.
