Merseyrail Sound Station Festival has announced the full list of finalists for this year’s competition, with the innovative music prize celebrating its fifth outing on November 11.
Traditionally held at Moorfields Station, this years finale will take place at Liverpool Central Station as organisers look set to celebrate its special anniversary in some style.
With a record breaking number of aspiring musicians from across the region submitting their tracks into this years competition, the final ten have been narrowed down to earn a chance to perform in front of a panel of expert judges. Representatives include: Getintothis, Bido Lito!, Pirate Studios, Sentric Music and Sound City as well as last years winner.
Last year saw Astles win the coveted prize and ignite what has been a stellar year for the songwriter that has seen him play many of the regions top festivals and win critical praise for his upcoming EP Full of Wonder.

This years finalists include Americana duo Limerance, indie electronica starlet Joseph Mott and the soul inspired hip hop of Tabitha Jade. The full Merseyrail Sound Station finalists are Limerance, Joseph Mott, Tabitha Jade, Black Pulp, Luna, Molly Hughes, Nicola Hardman, Jack McAllister, KingFast and Andy Short.
The artist who shines brightest in the final will receive a year’s worth of professional music industry mentoring, recording time and free train travel on Merseyrail.
The winner will be announced at a special afterparty set to take place and include several performances at Leaf on the same evening.
**UPDATE**
Following the final at Liverpool Central Station, Kingfast has been declared the winner of Merseyrail Sound Station 2017. Born in Kingston, Jamaica and raised in Belfast, Kingfast now calls Liverpool home an impressed crowds of spectators with his soulful folk cuts.

Having released his debut EP Dreamworld earlier this year, Kingfast can now look forward to a year’s worth of professional industry help, recording time and free rail travel. We can’t wait to see what he has planned next.
