Strange Collective reveal the second wave of bands for their all-dayer down the North Docklands, Getintothis’ Peter Guy continues the story on another day of musical carnage and chaotic wonder.
Strange Collective have revealed the second wave of bands for their all-day at Liverpool’s Invisible Wind Factory on Saturday September 9.
The quartet, who remain one of the city’s most-loved and most ferocious live talents, have lined up a stellar bill including GIT Award 2017 nominees Ohmns and three of Getintothis‘ big tips FUSS, Danye and newcomers Pale Rider and Yammerer.
The second wave of bands includes Psycho Comedy, a new project by former Wild Eyes named The Wild I, Rongo Rongo, Wild Fruit Art Collective, Shy Billy and the debut performance by former Tear Talk members in their new outfit Eyesore and the Jinx.
Ali Horn of Strange Collective said: “We’ll be doing a community art project called ‘The Night has a Thousand Eyes’ the idea is that everyone draws an eye on a massive canvas, then we were planning on auctioning it off for charity.”
The happening will expand upon Strange Collective‘s EP launch at the IWF back in July 2016, however the second edition will take place across two floors – the main room and the downstairs basement which was successfully given a test drive during FestEVOL and Sound City.
Looking ahead to the event, Ali Horn told Getintothis, “Despite the council and developers taking away our places to practice and play the Liverpool music scene is breeding the most insane bands all the time.
“We just want to put on a massive party to celebrate that. We’re putting it on ourselves and trying to make it as cheap as possible – if you get an early bird ticket it’s 50p a band – so that everyone can come together and put their middle fingers up to the powers that be.
“We will not go quietly into the night! We will not vanish without a fight! We’re going to live on! We’re going to survive! Today, we celebrate our Independence Day!” Lets Party Motherfuckers.”
