Getintothis’ Will Neville reports as the legendary post-rockers darken the doors of Manchester as part of their European tour.
Canadians Godspeed You! Black Emperor are touring Europe in support of new seventh album Luciferian Towers across October and November.
Their new record comes out on Constellation on 22 September and is their third long-player following a decade long hiatus. This sees them team up with engineer and co-producer Greg Norman, as on the previous two albums.
They blew away Camp And Furnace in Liverpool on their last jaunt over the pond in October 2015, when they played that year’s Asunder, Sweet And Other Distress album in full as part of their set.
The new record was partly inspired by the composition of new material to commemorate the centennial of the Battle of Messsines that premiered in a concert on the site of the massacre in Heuvelland in Belgium last June.
Tickets are on sale now for all of the following no doubt intensely thunderous UK dates:
Oct 23: Dome, Brighton
Oct 27: ABC, Glasgow
Oct 28: Victoria Warehouse, Manchester
Oct 30: Motion, Bristol
Oct 31: Troxy, London
