With a plethora of exceptional acts heading to Skeleton Coast festival, Getintothis’ Craig MacDonald updates us on the latest additions and a competition to win free tickets.
The times is nearly upon us, for the magic and mystery that is Skeleton Coast Festival, with the musical kaleidoscope returning to Hoylake Community Centre on August 5 for its all day shenanigans.
Following the initial wave of acts announced for this years gathering, Skeleton Coast have now revealed the full lineup for the all dayer, with a few surprises up their sleeves for good measure.
Having seen their sophomore album Cut The Master achieve critical acclaim from the masses and played stand out sets at the likes of Glastonbury, TRSMT and The Isle of Wight Festival, The Sundowners will be returning to home turf, as they join fellow headliners Cabbage, Jane Weaver and Josefin Öhrn and The Liberation on the bustling lineup.
Last years inaugural event saw some of the finest emerging talent in the country head to Hoylake Parade and this year is no exception with The Mysterines, Laurie Shaw, Peach Fuzz and The Strawberries joining Plastic, AGP, Deja Vega, Jack Haworth and Scarlet Rascal at the Wirral bonanza.
This years edition of Skeleton Coast will also see Skeleton Key heads The Coral bring their Distance In Between artwork exhibition to the days proceedings, with revelers being able to get their hands on prints from the groups album as well as the props from their eighth album.
The Sundowners, Skeleton Key and the building of a new Liverpool dynasty
If that wasn’t enough, then those lucky enough to get over to this years soiree will see the group hook up with GIT Award winners She Drew The Gun and Andy Votel to man the decks across the day.
With organisers also promising a special performance from “the man who fell to earth”, there is a real sense of wonder and intrigue to Skeleton Coast that’s impossible to resist.
