As Welcome To The North returns in July, Getintothis’ Jessica Borden reveals all.
Welcome To The North takes over Brudenell Social Club, Leeds on July 1.
As Welcome To The North, returns for its second year, the day festival will be based in two rooms at Brudenell Social Club, The Vryll Society and The Sundowners head the bill.
Coming from a series of big support slots on UK tours, SXSW appearances and becoming a force to be reckoned within the Liverpool’s psychedelic scene, The Vryll Society will be joined at the top of the bill by The Sundowners who follow on from their second album release, This Feeling tour with Edgar Jones and The New Jones’s and a headline slot at FestEvol.
The line up continues with favourites from the Manchester scene, Dantevilles, Hello Operator and Bang Bang Romeo. From Dantevilles‘ high tempo indie pop to Bang Bang Romeo’s storming rock and roll rhythms and Hello Operators’ darker hazy alternative rock, all of which have built cult followings from high energy performances and will not to be missed.
October Drift follow on the line up to bring their power rock rhythms and 80’s new wave softer contrasting vocals, pairing greatly on the line up with The Howl and The Hum whose vocals float around the more distorted of melodies. This all contrasts with The Lottery Winners and their high energy indie pop.
More acts included in the line up are, Mint, Scott Quinn, Nick Ellis, Heavy Suns, Polar States, The Hangnails.
