Ahead of the Smithdown Road Festival, Getintothis’ Sarah Pitman has the details of a last minute venue change.
After a few last minute issues with the council health and safety and licensing there has been a venue change for the Kris Ealey Main Stage and markets, from the Big Top at the Mystery park to the Sefton Park Palm House.
Although the capacity of the Palm House is less than that of the Big Top and the distance from Smithdown Road is greater, organisers have laid on a free shuttle bus to transport people to and from the Palm House to ensure everyone enjoys all the event has to offer.
The main stage will showcase headliners Space (Saturday) and The Craig Charles Funk and Soul Club (Sunday).
The Smithdown Road Festival is a free event taking place in various venues in and around the Smithdown Road area during Bank holiday weekend (April 29 – May 1). The event will showcase over 150 acts across 13 stages. The events at the Palm House will be in support of the Whitechaple Centre.
