The Lucid Dream

The Lucid Dream start a crowdfunding campaign to recover their loss post robbery on band van, Getintothis’ Amaan Khan provides the details.

Band van robberies are becoming a more common occurrence and sadly, The Lucid Dream have been one its recent victims.

The Carlisle band are familiar brethren to Liverpool with their regular returns to Liverpool International Festival of Psychedelia.

Moreover, the band recorded their third and latest album Compulsion Songs in Liverpool’s Whitewood studios with producer and owner Rob Whiteley. Supporting the release, The Lucid Dream also plays The Shipping Forecast on Saturday, May 6.

Unfortunately, however, the band had their touring van broken into and the music equipment stolen on the night of their Paris show on March 2, 2017.

Events like this bring about, most predominantly, great financial distress in an emerging band’s career who are still self-financing their way to bigger things. The band, however, has decided to keep on going and even said that a new album will be under works soon.

To help recover from the loss, the band has launched a Crowdfunder campaign targeted to raise £10,000 towards replacement of their equipment which has already raised more than £6,000 in its fifth day. Though no money can replace the sentimental value behind their previous gear, the raised money will definitely encourage and support this skyrocketing act.
