As the much cherished American songstress makes a welcomed return to our shores, Getintothis’ Craig MacDonald has all the details.
Fresh from announcing plans for an intimate UK tour, Jesca Hoop has announced a much anticipated return to Liverpool as she plays The Magnet on April 5.
Having stunned attendees of her last visit to our shores, nearly five years ago at a packed Leaf, this announcement from Mellowtone will come with an added bonus of a new album with the California native releasing her latest long player Memories Are Now this week.
With an ability to enchant all in her reach, Hoop has once had her experimental blend of styles described as “swimming in a lake at night” by her friends and mentor, Tom Waits. High praise indeed, if ever we have heard some.
Her latest release follows a collaborative album with Iron & Wine, with many critics labeling it her best to date as she develops her craftsmanship. If you want to see if they are right, then may we suggest you pencil a date in your diary ASAP.
