With the rise of Walking on Cars showing no sign of slowing, Getintothis’ Siobhan Matos writes in anticipation of their return.
Irish chart-toppers Walking on Cars have announced a date at Liverpool’s O2 Academy on November 25 as part of their biggest UK tour to date.
Having formed in Dingle, Ireland back in 2010, the five school-mates released their debut single Catch Me If You Can a little over two years later, with the track reaching number twenty-seven in Ireland and remaining there for an impressive, twenty weeks.
Liverpool Irish Festival 2016 – featuring Lisa Hannigan, The Divine Comedy & things we learnt.
Following this, they celebrated their achievement with the release of EPs As We Fly South and Hand In Hand before finally releasing their debut album Everything This Way earlier this year. It was no surprise that it too was warmly received, reaching the dizzying heights of number one in the Irish chart.
With all of this success, we can’t wait to see them play to their biggest scouse crowd yet at the O2 Academy, with what we anticipate to be an enthusiastic crowd, having played to a packed Arts Club earlier in the year.
