The Vibrators to crash onto the stage at The Magnet this December, in celebration of their 40th year in the business, as Getintothis’ Siobhan Matos reports.
The lyrics, “Well here I am, Outta my brain. Everything’s comin’, back round again…” come to mind when thinking of The Vibrators gig at The Magnet on December 2.
We imagine, a lively group of die-hard fans, filling out the atmospheric space provided. Everybody raising the roof for the classics that the band are sure to play. Needless to say we at Getintothis are excited.
It was 1976 when the band had their debut single release with We Vibrate, which was closely followed by their debut album Pure Mania. In the 40 years since, they have enjoyed success with an impressive 20 albums.
The nostalgia business and celebrating the rise of the box set
With fans still keen to see the band live they have embarked on a fourteen-date UK tour, which began in Glasgow on November 11 and ends in London’s Camden Town on December 17. That will be followed by a European tour which loops back to the UK in 2017.
However, December 2 is their only Liverpool date for the foreseeable future, so our suggestion is to don your punk apparel and herald their return to a Liverpool stage.
The Vibrators play The Magnet on Friday, December 2, doors 7:30pm.
UK tour dates:
December 1: Guild Hall, Preston
December 2: Magnet, Liverpool
December 3: Westgarth Social Club, Middlesbrough
December 9: The Owl Sanctuary, Norwich
December 10: Moon Club, Cardiff
December 16: Horseshoe Inn, Wellingborough
