With the Summer holidays at an end, Getintothis’ Craig MacDonald urges us to all fully embrace the new season of gigs.
As the leaves start to fall, it’s clear that the Summer holidays are now a thing of the past, as another semester starts for many a teacher and pupil. But it also heralds a whole new season of gigs for us all to embrace, with possibly the busiest time of year for promoters, artists and venues alike set to hit us square in the face.
So before you all do your best Chino Moreno impression and run right back to school, why not have a read through this weeks guide to see who’s heading to town this week.

The Blockheads: The Cavern, September 8
Nearly forty years in the business and still going strong, rockers The Blockheads will be ready to hit you with their rhythm stick this Thursday, as they head down to The Cavern.
Having continued to show their diversity since the tragic loss of former frontman Ian Drury, the group are most definitely a one of a kind act.
Eleanor Friedberger: Arts Club, September 8
Bring the latest chapter in her mesmerising career to Liverpool this Thursday, the magical Eleanor Friedberger plays a highly anticipated date at Seel Street venue The Arts Club.
The indie – pop maestro is a rare delight you should not pass upon seeing. With support on the night will coming from The Buffalo Riot and Lunar Runway, this is going to be one to live long in your minds.
Lowkey
Lowkey: 24 Kitchen Street, September 8
One of the best rappers in the UK is finally back, with Lowkey set to hit 24 Kitchen Street this Thursday following a far too long hiatus.
A keen activist and inspirational lyricist, Lowkey will be returning from a four year hiatus, and if news single Ahmed is anything to go by, he means business.
Zuzu
The Enemy: O2 Academy, September 9
Now a decade old, Coventry trio The Enemy will head to Liverpool for the last time this Friday, as they play the O2 Academy as part of their farewell tour.
The indie rockers have long been firm favourites with many over the years, so expect this to be one hell of a party. Support at this whopper comes from Zuzu and April.

Bill Patrick: The Shipping Forecast, September 10
Having played the likes of DC10 and Fabric in the past, New York deck master Bill Patrick heads to Rubix on Saturday when he hits The Shipping Forecast.
Bringing a subtle psych twist to the tech-house buzz, this is rightly going to be one of the highlights of the weekend for many.
The Basement Effect
The Basement Effect: Arts Club, September 10
Celebrating the release of their debut EP, Young and The Same, retro rockers The Basement Effect will be heading to the Arts Club on Saturday having made quite an impression at this years LIMF.
With an abundance of promise in their hands, these are a group to keep an eye on. Support at this one comes from Chloe Collins, Below The Depths and Paisley.
