As Oscar adds dates in Liverpool and Manchester to his UK tour, Getintothis’ Craig MacDonald gets ready for his arrival.
This September will see the splendour of North Londoner Oscar head out on his UK tour, following an appearance at Festival Number 6 in support of his debut album, Cut and Paste, with the slender songwriter hitting Liverpool’s Studio 2 on September 24 and Manchester‘s Soup Kitchen on September 30 respectfully.
Having released his first long player through Witchita earlier in the year, Oscar Scheller has developed quite the following with his tight structured, melodic scuzz-tinged guitar offerings, as he drives through a flood of 90’s based influences into his tracks, like the instant groover Sometimes.
Comparisons have been drawn with the likes of Blur and Elastica, but it’s the baritone root to his music that provides a glimpse of the promise that Oscar has within himself. With album number two in the works already, there may even be a few surprises in store at these shows.
Oscar plays Liverpool’s Studio 2 on Saturday, September 24 and Manchester’s Soup Kitchen on Friday, September 30.
