Liverpool artists and activists gathered at 24 Kitchen Street to raise awareness and funds for Syrian refugees, Getintothis’ Tom Adam was there to capture a night of performance and togetherness.
Liverpool artists, film-makers, activists and dance performers gathered at 24 Kitchen Street for Syria fundraiser.
Rising bands SeaWitches and Mamatung joined the likes of Long Finger Bandits, Amanda Brown and the Common Ears, Dogstar Rose and Moxie amid a festival of colour, dance and acrobatic fire displays.
The Lanternband, Mark Jones Jazz Duo, Iris Madariaga, Meike Holzmann and Tom George were also among the live performers while Elias Matar‘s film Flight of the Refugees was premiered for the first time here in the UK. There were live links to Lebanon on the day and speakers from the British Syrian Community.
A collection of artwork by Syrian children from Lebanese refugee camps was also on display entitled From Syria with Love while Indian dance was conducted by Jadie Lancely plus Samba drumming by Beatlife, performance art by Frankii Phoenix, Samba dancing by Viva-Brasil plus a dramatic outside fire show by Szymon’s Bring the Fire Project.
