Warped beats, intensely beautiful ambience and a perfect sweep of summer guitars all feature in this week’s new music round-up from Getintothis’ Patrick Clarke.
So infectiously warped is Heiroglyphic Being‘s new track, The Disco’s of Imhotep, we can forgive the London producer his misplaced comma. Opening with luminous chirrs of looping synth, a stunning spine of irresistible, glitched-out beats soon takes over, a cornucopic brew of lucid, lunatic texture. The track comes out in August on Technicolour, the singles label of the ever-exceptional Ninja Tune.
Also ringing true to their label’s name is 21st Century Wolf on the latest material to appear under the imperious Sacred Phrases banner. On Our Sun and CYAN LIMBO, cut from the enigmatic act’s debut record Ideographic Space, out next month, treads the line between ambience and intensity in gorgeous style, the former a sublime, rapid burst of unwavering light, the latter a left-field whisper of a track, glistening with understated ease.
Veteran Omaha indie label Saddle Creek, finally, releases the debut solo LP from Celestial Shore‘s Sam Evian, Premium later this year, with single Sleep Easy available for 7″ pre-order now. Though by the book, it’s a blissful sweep of easy summer pop done just right.
