Danish singer-songwriter MØ is set to play the Arts Club in October as part of her world tour, Getintothis’ Steph Niciu has the scoop
MØ, aka Karen Marie Ørsted, wrote her first song when she was just seven years old. As a teen, she became obsessed with pop music, and her involvement with politics, punk and the anti-fascist movement led her to form her own band called Mor.
She was signed to Sony Music Entertainment in 2013. The following year she released her debut album, No Mythologies to Follow, which includes the tracks Pilgrim and Waste of Time. MØ has been compared to such electropop artists as Grimes and Twin Shadow.
MØ has been making waves as a solo artist, but it’s her collaborations that have really helped to increase her profile. Most notably, she featured and co-wrote the 2015 summer smash hit Lean On with Diplo and DJ Snake.
Nimmo have just been announced as the support for every date on the tour. They will also headline their own UK tour in November, as well as ‘The Room 5 Sessions’ where they will interpret their favourite tracks.
MØ‘s second album will be released later this year and features the track Final Song, produced by MNEK. She will play the Arts Club on October 18. For tickets visit gigst.rs/MØ.
