Manchester post punk powerhouse Spring King are set to release their debut album Tell Me If You Like To through Island Records on June 10, with their new single The Summer providing a glimpse of what we can expect before they play a packed Arts Club next week.
In what is perhaps their most direct offering yet, The Summer is what the group have themselves called an ode to The Beach Boys and it’s easy to see why. Filled with a tender narrative from Tarek Musa, The Summer has all the right ingredients to be a bonafide smash over the oncoming festival season.
Upbeat from the get go, the single finds Spring King at their most energetic best, as they flood you with joyous waves of feel good warmth that command you to join in with their every beat.
The track is another fine example of why the quartet continue to see their stock rise and together with previous releases Who Are You?, Rectifier and City, there is a real sense of anticipation of what we can expect from their debut long player.
