Boasting a diverse line up to match the special visuals, Getintothis’ Adam Lowerson looks ahead to the final instalment of Stealing Sheep’s Mythopoeia at the Kazimier.
Stealing Sheep and Ulysses have announced the first wave of artists to play their third instalment of Mythopoeia, which takes place at the Kazimier on November 28. The event, titled Legs, will spread across three performance spaces including the Kazimier club, Kazimier Gardens and the Arts Academy next door, and will be the last of its kind at the venue which is due to close on January 1.
Mythopoeia III will include a rare performance of Stealing Sheep’s Legs show, which was debuted at Heavenly 25 at the Kazimier earlier this year, as well as sets from Dutch Uncles, Landshapes, Joey Fourr, Deep Throat Choir, Nadine Carina, Bathymetry, Midnight Chardonnay and Faux Queens, which will all be accompanied with visuals by Crystal Massage.
The line up will be completed by Liverpool’s own Outfit, who’ve enjoyed a busy year since the release of their second record Slowness, and also Manchester’s PINS who released their second album Wild Nights on Bella Union earlier this year.
Speaking about the night, Stealing Sheep’s Rebecca Hawley said, “We’re really pleased to put on Mythopoeia one more time in the Kazimier club and bring an exciting selection of bands and artists to our Liverpool audience again. Our show Legs is something which we’ve been developing between touring and it’s been refreshing to compose in this new format.”
Mythopoeia is described by the band as “a world of surrealism and imagination, where strange characters exist. They lure the audience in with their optical illusions and hypnotic limbs. The characters get together to perform their ritual dance that reveals their story and how they found their unity.”
The first two instalments of the spectacle included Mythopoeia I, Night of the Ice Dragon, and Mythopoeia II, Galaxies and Tapestries, and have featured performances from the likes of Hooton Tennis Club, Bird, Barberos and Paddy Steer.
