Loved Ones’ second album Subterrainia

Much-lauded Wirral outfit Loved Ones have unveiled the first taste of their second full-length release, Getintothis’ Patrick Clarke on Equipment Pack ahead of Saturday’s gig at Sefton Palm House.

Fresh from their 2012 victory at the inaugural GIT Award, and the subsequent acclaim that met the following year’s The Merry Monarch, their debut album, electro-folkers Loved Ones are all set to return with a full length soundtrack for this Saturday’s (October 11) Subterrainia event at The Palm House.

The first track from the album, Equipment Pack, is available to stream below, and takes on the claustrophobic, ambient aesthetics that are to characterise the remainder of the record, which is set to be a marked departure from last year’s debut.

The record was inspired by the music of Brian Reitzell and Eduard Artemiev, and the works of influential philosopher and science fiction author Olaf Stapledon, and is set for proper release on November 24.

Subterrainia, hosted by Everisland is also set to take place amidst the breathtaking terrain of Sefton Park’s Palm House, which is to be transformed with lavish, costumes, visuals and props into an enticing artistic assault on the senses.

Alongside the soundtrack the bill boasts the likes of acclaimed folk artist Jonas Alaska, the ever-thrilling Moats, Heavenly Records‘ latest signings Hooton Tennis Club and much-hyped psych-poppers Gulf, for what’s sure to be something very special indeed.
