Growlers, Fat White Family AND Wytches set to bring the noise to Liverpool, Getintothis’ Michael Fowler predicts a rowdy showdown.
Storming their way into the Kaz on the August 18 is a gig made to shock and awe. Growlers, Fat White Family and The Wytches are stopping by on their Coin Toss to See Who Headlines Tour.
California based Growlers are a good mix of sun soaked surf guitars and psychedelia, currently touring their forth coming fourth album, Chinese Fountain, which is promising a more mature and polished sound. These fellas are known for some bizarre live performances. Props, theatricality, make up and transvestism are more than certainly on the cards.
We reckon Fat White Family will be raring to get that headline slot after their raucous Sound City gig at The Black-E, we’ve certainly been waiting for them to come back ever since our ears stopped ringing. Their album Champagne Holocaust is a dark, ugly and subversive record, like a concept album about the Texas Chainsaw Massacre made by the Velvet Underground. Not to be outdone by Growlers, their sound is heavy and their performances match it, Fat Whites front man Lias Saudi channels the insanity of an Iggy Pop performance and he’s also known for finishing gigs with less clothes than he started with, if any at all.
Wytches are a three piece from Brighton, they have a real Pixies surf sound blended with some early Horrors. Their album, Annabel Dream Radar, is out August 25th and was produced by their lead man Kristian Bell and the Wirral’s own, Bill Ryder-Jones.
