Short for Suburban Blue, 16-year old Mensah has returned with his debut offering, Your Call, where he provides a crystal-cool sound for new urban Liverpool. Experimentally zapping from one note to the next, completely different to the stripped back acoustic gaze we expect from this young scarlet.
Ripping away the safety blanket of RnB stereotypes, Mensah’s mesmerising matureness is balanced with a youthful energy fuses commercial savy with an avant blend.
Sub Blue isn’t your standard NW sound yet there is something so raw and arousing that you cannot help but intoxicate yourself a little further.
