The GIT Award 2014 is 48 hours away – and with a grand evening of festivities planned at the Kazimier, there is but one man who’s able to start the party – the High Priest of Spectacle, the Demi God of Magik, the Prince of Mania – introducing Howard Be Thy Name.
Merseyside’s music prize The GIT Award 2014 is mere days away with the nominees set to perform at a specially redesigned Kazimier in the heart of Liverpool city centre on Friday 11 April 2014.
The industry showcase will include performances from the shortlisted artists plus an aftershow and specially produced set pieces produced by a team of set designers and production crew.
But like any party, there has to be a host, and boy have we one ready.
Friday’s High Priest of Party is known only as Howard Be Thy Name. Infamous for his high octane live performance, spectacular human light shows, kaleidoscopic projections and artistic high jinks, Howard Be Thy Name is a one-man leviathan of theatrical magnificence.
He’s collaborated with everyone from Mick Rock to Will Sergeant and his holiness Tenzin Gyatso, the 14th Dalai Lama – expect something unforgettable – an explosive array into the fantastical.
Howard Be Thy Name – the High Priest of Party and this year’s GIT Award host
This year, the Kazimier will transform their unique venue into a decadent studio of lavish 70s pomp and glitz complete with sequins, navel grazing necklines, ultra suede leisure suits and all manner of shimmer and sparkle with guests encouraged to dress the part.
Following the show, the Quietus editor John Doran and journalist and Brighton DJ Simon Price – both GIT Award judges – will take to the decks for the aftershow. On the Merseyside front, Abandon Silence residents will also man the DJ booth throughout the evening.
