A cup of tea and a pair of slippers for the home coming queen, Getintohis’ Dru Ryder sits herself down with a sweet and smooth one.
It’s been four years since Scouse sensation Rebecca Ferguson made her weekly TV outing on X Factor – and yet she still remains the most credible artist to emerge from the reality conveyor belt, proving her worth at a packed Echo Arena.
Opening the show with Fake Smile, Rebecca sat at the side of the stage, looking more like the diva in a shimmering floor length dress, than the shy reality contestant she used to be.
Talking, possibly the only part of Rebecca’s stage show which has previously proved problematic, yet tonight she oozes confidence, giggling to the masses, Are youse all drunk? before being greeted to a rowdy response as I Hope is belted out big time.

More funk inspired than her previous album Heaven, Freedom looks to the dance floor, seeing Rebecca skip back and forth across the stage to the bluesy beats.
Shouts of ‘We love you Rebecca‘ resound through the crowd. It seems like a proud moment for Liverpool, revelling in the talent of one of our own. With constant thanks of support to the audience she brings her daughter and family on stage for group sing and dance along.
Effortlessly tackling Katy Perry‘s Roar, Rebecca‘s husky voice swallows the original. Next, a cover of Raspberry Beret came after an introduction of ‘you’ll always find me in Garlands dancing to Prince.’

Down to earth and as humble as she was four years ago when she first graced our screens, she may not be as much as a commercial success as her fellow TV contestants but she outshines them all with an abundance of originality.
Vanquish live at The Echo Arena
Support came from girl band Vanquish who, in true X Factor style did a set of pop covers with synchronized arm movements to match. Young and fun, they delivered two original songs including their new single Damn, released this week.
Philippa Hanna live at The Echo Arena
Philippa Hanna, an unsigned artist, opened the night with an acoustic set. Most of her numbers conveyed messages of self-esteem with storytelling vibe that wouldn’t sound out of place in a Disney movie.
