The musical runners and riders have been selected for the Grand National at Aintree.

Drum roll, please…
Getintothis was inundated (158 to be exact) with entries of artists wishing to play this year’s Crabbies Grand National at Aintree – and the chosen three are Early Music, Matty H and She Drew The Gun.
Each act will play the Grand National Day on Saturday April 5 in the Equestrian Centre and Steeplechase acoustic space featuring alongside the likes of GIT Award 2014 nominees The Tea Street Band plus Esco Williams and Getintothis one to watch Sophia Ben Yousef.

With their blend of krautrock and classic Americana, Early Music have been a long-time tip of Getintothis while She Drew The Gun is imaginative glacial blues project of Louisa Roach.
Matty H, meanwhile, is emerging 16-year-old songwriter from Bootle. A real find.
Early Music lead guitarist Sam Gill said: “We’re all very excited to be invited to play the Grand National. It’s the biggest and best race of its kind in the world, so of course it’ll be a pleasure to say we’ve played it.
Roach said: “I’ve never even been to the races before and thanks to music lovers nominating me I am going to share my music with a new crowd. It is a great opportunity and I am really looking forward to it.
Matty added:: “This is the biggest gig of my life! I was amazed when I found out I had been chosen, I called my manager and couldn’t believe it. I’m going to be able to meet a whole new audience and hopefully grow my fanbase in a way I never dreamed before.
This is the third year Getintothis has worked with The Grand National to offer artists the chance to play.
Peter said: “It’s been a pleasure to team up with the Grand National organisers again to select artists for Aintree. This year saw more than 150 Merseyside acts apply to play and coming up with just three was quite a task.
However it has been super fun as I’ve discovered several new artists to keep an eye on and the three I’ve chosen are superb in their own right. Roll on April 3, it’s going to be a fabulous three days.
Also playing Saturday’s Grand National are Mutant Vinyl, Wretched Pearls, Mike Badger, John O’Connell and Eddie Latham.
